The theme for this issue is Restore The Joy. Each of the writers has penned what they have received in their spirit regarding such a profound topic. Id like to approach it from a different angle in my pen. It is obvious that we are residing in a challenging season and we often pray that God will restore the joy Make things “right” again Right is defined as the quality of being ethical and honest or justified and reasonable Lets take a look at what has happened to our churches over the past 10-20 years. There appears to have been a great falling away from the church. The world no longer looks at pastors and preachers as mighty men of God. Many churches are more focused on the almighty dollar and not on how many souls can be won to Christ The masses no longer revere the church as a place of refuge and safety Men and women use the church as their weekly social gathering minus absorbing the word going forth. The masses no longer revere even the Sabbath day as a day to keep holy. Sports, shopping, vacationing and more have all taken the place of our day of worship. We have placed a load of pleasures before what used to be our day of worship. And although online services can reach a greater audience, it does not take the place of person-to-person fellowship with other Believers Those things stated in the bible as abominations and outright sin no longer carry weight and, in some instances, have been made laws of the land. So how do we restore joy?

The Bible says, "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and heal their land". Bible scholars understand that the people referred to were the Israelites. However, the Bible is a book for today’s people and the words spoken then still apply to His people US!

How is your prayer life? How often do you read your bible? When was the last time you asked God to lead you and guide you; to order your steps in his word.

When was the last time you went to God in prayer asking for forgiveness for those things that you did or said that you know were not pleasing in his sight? How many times did you pour your heart out to him expressing your total love and devotion to and for him, with an humble desire to turn from your wicked ways? God has promised in his word that if we as a collective body of believers meet these conditions, he will hear our prayers, forgive our sins, and heal our land. When we understand this simple request from God, it should make it easier to understand that what is happening across the land may just well be for our benefit according to Gods purpose. Had there not been the chaos that we now face on a daily basis across the land, would we even be considering turning back to God? Is he allowing the chaos to draw us back to him? Remember, Satan’s soul mission is to steal, kill and destroy He’s being allowed to run rampant in the land But God has given us the answer; the solution to our healing, to restoring the joy. “If my people who are called by my name….”

A Spiritual Connection with Lady Wanda Fielding

Few names shine as brightly in gospel music as that of the late Rev. Dr. Quincy Fielding, Jr. His extraordinary gifts as an artist, musician, and songwriter touched lives across the world. Known for collaborations with the likes of Rev. Daryl Coley, Tremaine Hawkins, Walter Hawkins, Melba Moore, Rickey Dillard, Dr. Charles Fold, and Dr. Charles Hayes, Dr. Fielding’s music blended scripture with melody in a way that pierced the soul. His life was one of song, scripture, and spirit, and his passing leaves a profound void in the gospel community. Yet, his legacy continues through his wife, Lady Wanda J. Wilson Fielding, who carries both his name and his mission with grace and strength.

It was truly an honor to make A Spiritual Connection with Lady Wanda as we considered this month’s theme, Restore the Joy, the title of one of Dr. Fielding’s most beloved songs—penned by him and sung by Katrice Wilborn. During our time together, she graciously shared her journey of faith, teaching, and legacy.

ph text

Born in South Park, Pennsylvania, to Bishop Freeman and Mother Luvenia Wilson Sr., Lady Wanda grew up surrounded by preachers her life to Christ at an early age and was baptiz After graduating from South Park High te University, earning a degree in clothing in education. An active member of Alpha she remains committed to service and sisterhood.

Lady Wanda devoted over 30 years to teaching in Columbus, Ohio, before joining the Los Angeles Unified School District as a special education teacher. In 2015 she married Rev. Dr. Quincy D. Fielding Jr., becoming his partner in life, ministry, and music. Together they co-founded the Dr Quincy D. Fielding Grace Choir, where she serves as CFO. In 2025, she received an Honorary Doctorate in Sacred Music from Bible Believers Seminary.

When asked about her husband’s legacy, Lady Wanda is clear: “Dr. Quincy’s greatest gift was that of himself. Everything he wrote was based on scripture. That made his music impactful because it was the Word of God 'quick and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword’ (Heb 4:12) ” Dr Quincy’s music was not entertainment, it was ministry that was designed to uplift, heal, and glorify God.

Dr. Fielding’s songwriting continues to resonate even in his absence. “His music tells a story … some of it from heartaches, some of it from joy and all of it from believing and trusting in the Word of God.” This truth and timelessness in Dr. Quincy’s music ensures that it will inspire generations to come

The theme of this month’s issue resonates deeply with Lady Wanda “A lot of times you’ve gone through heartaches and hurts and pains, and ‘Restore the Joy’ means God just comes in and says, ‘I’m going to make it all right.’ When you meditate on the Word of God, He restores everything He promised, particularly the joy.” For Lady Wanda, joy is not the absence of sorrow but the promise of renewal a divine restoration that only God can bring.

While many know Lady Wanda as Dr. Quincy’s wife, she has also built ministry through teaching. “With God in my life, it transfers into my teaching children with special needs The Word says love one another No matter what a child looks like or what disability they have, I believe God sent me to be a light in their lives. When they come into my classroom, I want God’s light to shine through me and permeate onto them.”

Navigating the loss of her husband has been painful, but Wanda’s faith sustains her. “I was taught to always trust and believe in the Word of God and that’s all I know. What gives me comfort is the scripture that says, ‘to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord’(2 Cor 5:8). I know my husband is with God, and as I continue to live right and serve Him, and treat people right and read His Word, I will see him again ”

For Lady Wanda, restoring joy is a daily walk “I have my days, but knowing that the Word of God is everlasting, it brings me strength. No matter how low you are, God breathes a breath of life into you right when you need it.”

She believes Dr. Quincy would echo the same encouragement: “That God heals all hurts, all wounds, all pain and when you put all your trust in Him, He will restore your joy.”

Lady Wanda’s commitment to Dr Quincy’s legacy remains strong “It’s more about Christ Keeping Christ at the center and knowing all of my husband’s music was scripture-based makes it a solid foundation. God gave him a gift to project the Word in a special way. Yes, we will have tears and heartaches, but one thing I know for sure is God will always see us through.”

The Choir Master Excellence Academy Committee at Jackson Memorial Church of God in Christ is honors Dr. Fielding annually with the ‘Quincy Fielding, Jr. Hall of Fame Lifetime Achievement Award’ to a deserving choir director with the same

kind of passion as Dr. Quincy. In addition, the Grace Choir, which is colead, by Lady Wanda, is accepting engagements and involving other writers to continue the legacy Reach out to Dr Wanda at wilwanda129@gmail com

To those walking through grief, Lady Wanda offers this encouragement: “Keep on trusting. Keep on believing. Keep on reading the Word of God. Just because your loved one is gone, it doesn’t mean they want you to stop living. They want you to live life to the fullest. I believe God will restore your joy”

Lady Wanda Fielding’s life and testimony reminds us that joy can be restored through faith, love, and music. As she continues to honor her beloved husband’s memory, she carries forward the very song that still rings true: “Restore the Joy.”

Father, we thank you for your mercies and your love and kindness. We ask oh God that as we walk through this day that you will give us a praying spirit. We don’t come asking for material things, those things that are temporal and carnal. We ask that you touch our hearts that we can be closer to you in spirit, for we know that if you give us a praying spirit it helps us to better understand those things that come to hinder our walk. We better understand those who persecute us and speak unkind words to and about us. We know that if you give us a praying spirit that we can better love our brothers and sisters no matter what the circumstance. Lord create within us a clean heart and renew in us a right spirit. Lord give us a praying Spirit. We want our lives to be pleasing in your sight. Let the words of our mouth and the meditation of our heart be acceptable in your sight oh God. Consecrate our hearts in Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

Music and the Kingdom

Kingdom Greetings & Blessings! As we start to settle into the latter part of the year, we also try to put the first part of the year in perspective There’s been so much to unpack in this season The world is at war, our country is in the state of confusion, shootings in our schools & churches etc. Not to mention the demon of depression, anxiety & suicide is running wild! It’s like we’re in this one big free for all where anything goes! But take courage, that may be what it looks like with the natural eye, but God; the God of peace, love & grace is STILL on the throne! As a music creator it is hard to not see & respond to all these things in a way that the hearts of men would first repent & return! What do I mean? Well let’s look at the text of one of my favorite scriptures II Chronicles 7:14 "if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and heal their land". This verse outlines a condition for God to respond to His people by showing forgiveness and restoring the land if they humble themselves, repent, and seek Him The phrase "called by my name" signifies a deep, personal identity and allegiance to God We are his people! But wait you cannot read that verse without reading what comes in the verses 15 & 16. If & when we do these things God says : “Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attentive unto the prayer that is made in this place. For now have I chosen and sanctified this house, that my name may be there for ever: and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually”.

So God in his infinite wisdom laid out the plan for us to experience true healing & ultimately JOY! Let me speak about this latter word JOY Joy in the believers context means experiencing an inner gladness and strength that is independent of external circumstances,

Dr. Percy Bady

stemming from a relationship with God through the Holy Spirit and a focus on His unchanging nature and promises. It's not a temporary happiness but a supernatural, soul-deep contentment that provides fortitude to endure hardships and live a life of purpose and faithfulness, even when faced with difficulties So turning back to God leads to a joy that keeps me sane in a world filled with insanity! Man, WHEW! I feel a shout right here!

In Psalm 51 David wrote after he had sinned with Bathsheba “Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your lovingkindness; According to the greatness of Your compassion blot out my transgressions. For I am conscious of my transgressions and I acknowledge them; My sin is always before me ” (this was the return, the setup to receive from God) Then in verse 12 of this same chapter he makes a request that NO tangible person, place nor thing could answer “Restore to me the joy of Your salvation And sustain me with a willing spirit.”

The apropos word here Restore means it was there previously! Re when used as a prefix means again / back. (Return) Ha!!!!! OMG I’m gone take a minute and dance right here, I’ll be back!

Let me wrap this up by saying if your Joy is tied to a circumstance, person, bank account, car or anything else that’s tangible, that’s not true Joy!!!!!! See, you need the kinda Joy that says yep I’m going through, but I’m coming out! Yeah I know this or that happened but I’m happy (joyful) because Gods promises still hold true no matter what! So I close by saying, Don’t let nothing steal your Joy! It’s already been paid for!!!!!

IIChronicles7:14"ifmypeoplewhoare calledbymynamewillhumble themselvesandprayandseekmyface andturnfromtheirwickedways, thenI willhearfromheavenandwillforgive theirsinsandhealtheirland".
The phrase called by my name " signifies a deep, personal identity and allegiance to God.

A Pastor’s Perspective

Restoring Your Joy

When The Congregation Is Struggling

When your congregation is struggling, restoring your spiritual joy means refocusing on your personal relationship with God while remaining a faithful, encouraging presence in your community. This process requires honest self-reflection, consistent spiritual practices, and a recommitment to your foundational faith

Acknowledge and be honest about your feelings. Start by admitting your discouragement, doubt, or hurt to God. Recognize that your feelings are valid and that God can handle your full range of emotions, including frustration with the church.

Rediscover God's promises in Scripture. When your faith is shaken, immerse yourself in God's promises to restore a solid theological foundation Reading texts like the Psalms, especially those written by David during times of personal turmoil, can offer comfort and a reminder of God's unwavering faithfulness.

Intensify your prayer life. Don't let your congregation's struggles silence your personal conversations with God. Pray specifically for the wisdom and strength you need, and ask the Holy Spirit to fill you with joy. Remember that only God can truly restore your joy. Practice gratitude Make a daily habit of writing down or reflecting on things you are thankful for This practice shifts your focus from the problems within your congregation to the blessings in your life and God's overall goodness.

Separate God's character from human flaws. Understand that the imperfections and hurtful actions of individuals in your church are not a reflection of God's character God is loving, just, and for the oppressed, even if some of his followers misrepresent him Find an uplifting support system. Connect with trusted friends, mentors, or a small group of believers for guidance and encouragement. Sharing your struggles with a supportive network can remind you that you are not alone. Look beyond your current church. If the hurt is deep and reconciliation is not possible, it may be healthy to explore other faith communities While you shouldn't abandon the idea of fellowship, seeking a new and healthy environment can be crucial for your spiritual well-being.

Focus on mission and outreach. Redirecting your energy toward serving others can restore a sense of purpose and joy. Engaging in acts of kindness in your broader community reminds you that you are part of a larger mission and shifts your focus outward

Look for lessons in the struggle View your congregation's difficulties as an opportunity for essential learning and growth. Challenging times can strengthen faith and build up the community for the future.

Serve where you can. Volunteer your time and talents to foster encouragement and positive change within the struggling church. This can help you feel invested and remind you that you can contribute to a healthier church culture

Speak with leaders, discreetly If you have a specific concern, bring it to a pastor or elder as a "committee of one," not as gossip. Present your perspective humbly and allow church leadership time to work through the matter. Avoid expressing your displeasure to others.

Restoring the Joy When You Cant See Your Way

To restore spiritual joy while facing financial hardship and food insecurity, focus on strengthening your connection to God, cultivating gratitude for non-material blessings, and finding purpose in serving others. Taking practical steps to address your immediate needs, such as finding food assistance, is also a part of caring for your spiritual and physical well-being.

Focus on your spiritual foundation.

Deepen your relationship with God Prayer, meditation, and reading the Word, as well as other inspirational books, can provide solace and guidance during financial uncertainty. A strong spiritual connection can give you an inner sense of purpose that transcends material loss.

Embrace spiritual poverty. Recognize that your spiritual wellbeing is not defined by material wealth, but by your connection to the divine. Acknowledging your deep need for God can lead to inner richness and peace.

Ask for renewed joy. If you feel your joy is lost, you can ask for it to be restored through prayer. Scripture offers comfort by reminding believers that joy comes from a relationship with God, not from circumstances

Cultivate gratitude and shift perspective

Practice daily gratitude. Journaling or simply reflecting on a few things you are thankful for can shift your focus from what you lack to the blessings you already have. This can include appreciating the beauty of nature, the sound of music, or the kindness of others.

Shift your motivation. Move your focus from a self-centered perspective to worship and devotion. This change in focus can help you find creative, joyful ways to connect with your faith that are not dependent on money.

Reframe your life's purpose. Remember that your ultimate purpose is not defined by your financial or material success Focusing on your spiritual growth and your relationship with God can be a source of deep, lasting joy.

Address your physical needs.

Practice generosity and community. Serve others. Focusing on the welfare of others can help take your mind off your own struggles and give you a sense of purpose Even without money, you can offer your time, talents, and skills to support those in your community. Build a support network. Find strength and encouragement by connecting with your spiritual community, whether that's a church, meditation group, or other faith-based organization. Fellow community members can provide practical advice, spiritual guidance, and emotional support.

Seek immediate food assistance Your spiritual wellbeing is closely tied to your physical health. If you are unable to buy food, seek help from your local food bank, church, or community services. Accepting help when you are in need is a form of self-care.

Use available resources Look for free community events, library programs, and free resources that don't cost money. This can include visiting farmers' markets for samples, attending free concerts in the park, or borrowing books from the library. Embrace resourcefulness. Get creative with what you have Learn to cook new meals using inexpensive ingredients, and repurpose items you already own. Necessity can be the mother of invention, and finding new ways to utilize your existing resources can be a source of pride and joy.

Why Losing Weight Gets Harder With Age

Maintaining a healthy diet and exercise routine can get harder with age, as weight gain becomes more likely. After their 30s, people need less energy and may need to change their eating habits. In their 40s and middle age, changes in muscle, hormones, and metabolism affect weight, but understanding these shifts can help with effective weight management Why is it harder to lose weight as you get older?

MUSCLE LOSS

Ageing causes muscle loss, which lowers calorie burning since muscle is more metabolically active than fat Why? Reduced activity because of busy lives or injuries—leads to this decline, so staying active as you age helps maintain muscle strength.

STRESS

Increased stress can lead to weight gain. When busy, exercise is often neglected and unhealthy snacks become tempting. Stress also raises ghrelin, a hormone produced primarily in the stomach that plays a crucial role in regulating appetite and energy balance. levels, increasing hunger and fat storage.

SLOWING METABOLISM

Metabolism constantly converts food and drink into energy for vital functions, including at rest As we age, metabolism slows, reducing calorie burn and increasing fat storage

HORMONAL CHANGES

Hormonal changes can affect weight. During menopause, lower estrogen levels often lead to weight gain, especially around the abdomen. Even in your mid-40s, approaching menopause can cause mood swings that make healthy habits harder to maintain. Men experience hormonal changes too; from age 40, testosterone drops, making it harder to burn calories since this hormone controls fat distribution and muscle strength. Both sexes produce less growth hormone in middle age, affecting body fat regulation. With these shifts, what can you do to fight age-related weight gain?

Healthy Tips on Preventing Weight Gain

1 Choose nutrient-rich foods Opt for fruits, vegetables, legumes, nuts, whole grains, and other options high in vitamins, minerals, fibre, and protein.

2. Watch portion sizes – If you consume more energy than you burn, your body stores it as fat. As you age, adjust your portion sizes to meet your changing needs.

3 Vary your workouts – Alternate between cardio (like running or cycling) and weight training to burn calories and build muscle

Manage stress and sleep – Reduce stress to avoid comfort eating and improve sleep, which also supports exercise routines.

6. Health is not just one number – Don’t focus solely on weight; prioritize healthy eating, regular physical activity, good sleep, and mental health for overall wellbeing and maintaining a healthy weight

Stay hydrated – Drink water instead of fizzy drinks; dehydration can feel like hunger and is linked to higher BMI.

The Power of Relationships

Restore the Joy!

When I first saw the phrase “Restore the Joy,” my mind immediately went to the timeless song by Maze featuring Frankie Beverly The lyrics capture a truth that resonates with every human experience:

“Joy and pain are like sunshine and rain.”

Those words are more than a catchy refrain they reflect the reality of life.

We all encounter seasons of happiness and hardship, moments of triumph and times of deep sorrow. For me, those lyrics are not just music; they represent a chapter of my life that shaped who I am today.

A Season of Loss and Numbness

I was in high school when I faced one of the most difficult seasons of my life. On one hand, I was achieving so much academically and as an athlete. On the other, I was devastated by the loss of my mother. That pain was unlike anything I had ever known. Suddenly, the world felt unfamiliar. I didn’t know how to navigate the emotional storm I was in. My daily routine getting up, going to school, completing assignments became my only anchor

At that time, I wasn’t sure what to feel In fact, I’m not sure I felt anything at all I was numb numb from trying to comprehend what life would look like without my mother. That numbness deepened when my brother eloped and my sister moved to New York less than a year later. My family dynamic changed overnight, and I felt completely alone.

Holding On to Faith

During that period, the only constant in my life was church—church services, music, preaching, and Bible study. People often told me, “I’m praying for you.” At first, those words felt empty. But over time, I began to realize that those prayers were sustaining me. Slowly, I started to feel again. I cracked a smile. I re-engaged in after-school activities. And eventually, I rediscovered a sense of purpose.

“Sometimes, the smallest spark of hope can reignite the flame of joy.”

I developed a new drive to succeed not just for myself, but to honor my mother’s legacy Even though she was no longer physically present, I wanted to make her proud. People who knew her often told me, “You look so much like your mother.” The first time I heard that after her passing, I smiled through my pain. For the first time in a long time, I felt a spark of joy. It was exactly as Frankie Beverly sang: “Joy and pain are like sunshine and rain.” That lyric became a reminder that both emotions can coexist and that joy can return, even after seasons of deep sorrow

The Journey to Restoration

Grief taught me an important lesson: healing takes time, and it requires openness. Sometimes, we become so consumed by hurt, disappointment, or bitterness that we refuse to make space for restoration We normalize pain and accept it as a permanent state But it doesn’t have to be that way.

You can reclaim your joy but it often requires intentional effort. Start by identifying the root of your pain. Understand how it gained a stronghold in your life. Then, take steps to break free whether that means speaking truth over your situation, walking away from toxic environments, or asking God to intervene in ways only He can The process may be difficult, and you may have to fight for your joy, but it is absolutely worth it

Choosing Joy Again

Life can be challenging, and for some, joy feels uncomfortable because pain has become familiar. But you don’t have to stay in that place. You can smile again. You can laugh again. You can live again. Remember, joy is not dependent on circumstances—it is a gift from God. And as the saying goes:

“The joy of the Lord is your strength ” So, start today. Thank God in advance for the joy He has already prepared for you. Embrace the truth that the joy you have, the world didn’t give it—and the world can’t take it away.

Final Thought

Joy and pain will always be part of life’s rhythm, like sunshine and rain. But when you choose to lean into faith, hope, and resilience, you’ll discover that joy can return and when it does, it will be even sweeter than before

Restoring the Joy When Finances and Opportunities Seem Uncertain

Five Ways to Restore the Joy When Finances and Opportunities Seem Uncertain

Each year, more than 600,000 companies in the U.S. go out of business according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. For entrepreneurs, this can be disheartening. For believers, the struggle can raise more questions: do we hold on to the assignment God gave us even when the results don’t meet our expectations, or do we let it go?

The ups and downs of entrepreneurship can rob us of the joy we once had, especially during the cycles of feast-and-famine. Many of us measure success based on our finances instead of by God’s blueprint. Yet when we align our ventures with His blueprint, seek His wisdom, and understand His timing, it lends itself to more knowledge about what he actually wants for us. Part of the restoration process includes going back to God for guidance - the one who gave us the assignment in the first place

In this article, we will discuss how seeking God for wisdom can result in a renewed sense of hope and ultimately restore the joy we once had for our God-given venture. Armed with this newfound wisdom, the joy that once fueled our mission can be restored as outlined below.

1. Dust Off God’s Blueprint

When I first received (one of) my God-given assignments, I was overcome with joy But as time passed, it became easier to lose sight of God’s plan and gradually start implementing my own plans.

When we lean on our own understanding and operate in our own way, the outcomes are very different. Being frustrated with our finances often diminishes our joy. “Hope deferred makes the heart sick” (Proverbs 13:12).

To keep our joy intact, we must consistently seek God’s wisdom

2. Get Godly Wisdom

In James 1:5 the bible says: “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all men liberally and upbraided not reproach.”

Sometimes we lose joy because we misjudge the stage of our business and expect it to produce fruit too early. A business in its infancy stage should not be expected to produce fruit like a mature business According to Ecclesiastics 3:1-2, there is a time and a season for everything under the sun From a business perspective, there is a time to plant and lay a foundation; a time to gather what we need to effectively develop, grow and mature our business, and a time to reap the harvest.

When we recognize what stage our business is in planting, growing, or harvesting we can set more realistic expectations

3. From Conception to Laying the Foundation, to Maturity

Building our business on a strong foundation allows us to build and grow with confidence. A mature business should reflect the vision God gave us, while operating like a well-oiled machine with effective operating systems, compliance requirements, and outcomes aligned with both our efforts and God’s purpose (“We are laborers together with Christ - 1 Corinthians 3:9 ”)

Another thing to keep in mind is that maturity doesn’t always mean abundance. Our business may serve a purpose but doesn’t provide financial rewards. Its sole purpose may be to minister to others.

4. Restoring Joy When the Business Doesn’t Provide

Not every God-given assignment will be our primary source of income If a business doesn’t generate enough to sustain us, this doesn’t mean failure it could mean that God has “a ram in the bush” (Genesis 22:13). He may provide other sources of supplemental income, whether through part-time work, additional ventures, acquiring an established business (similar to our current one), or some other unrelated income stream.

According to Jeremiah 29:11 and 3 John 2, God’s desire is for us to prosper. “The blessing of the Lord, maketh rich, and He adds no sorrow to it” (Proverbs 10:22) He wants us to be like a tree planted by rivers of water, yielding fruit in its season (Psalm 1:3) He could be showing us more ways to generate other sources of income while still fulfilling our God-given assignment.

5. Restoring Joy Through God’s Guidance

Our ability to take every financial challenge to God is a source of hope in and of itself. Whether He leads us to deepen our foundation, expand, or seek outside income, there’s joy in knowing He cares about our business

When we let go of unrealistic timelines and embrace God’s true blueprint, we can stop measuring success based on profit margins alone, but by faithfulness, growth, obedience and alignment with His purpose.

There’s peace in knowing that God has a plan for our lives—even when finances and opportunities seem uncertain we should remember that we never labor alone, and know that God is with us He’s available to renew our hope, restore our joy, and sustain our future

The Benefit of Chicken Stew

I love cooking a good stew in the colder months. Chicken stew is my favorite. Here’s why...

Chicken stew is a hearty, nourishing dish known for its rich flavor and numerous health benefits. Loaded with protein from the chicken and a variety of vitamins and minerals from the vegetables, it can be a highly nutritious meal The long, slow cooking process tenderizes the chicken, allowing flavors to meld and create a satisfying, easy-to-digest meal. Whether you are fighting off an illness or simply looking for a wholesome and comforting dinner, a bowl of chicken stew is an excellent choice.

One of the most well-regarded benefits of chicken stew is its ability to soothe and aid recovery during a cold or flu. The warm, savory broth helps to increase hydration, loosen mucus, and soothe a sore throat The steam from the hot stew can also help clear nasal passages and ease congestion. Beyond its soothing warmth, the stew’s ingredients contribute to its healing properties. The chicken provides protein and amino acids, such as cysteine, which can help inhibit inflammation in the respiratory tract. Meanwhile, the combination of herbs, spices, and vegetables offers immuneboosting compounds and antioxidants

Chicken stew also offers benefits for digestion and general wellness When made with bone-in chicken, the slow simmering process releases collagen and gelatin into the broth, which can help heal and protect the digestive tract's lining. This makes chicken stew a gentle and easily digestible option for those with sensitive stomachs or during recovery from illness. The robust combination of vegetables, such as carrots, celery, and onions, provides essential vitamins, minerals, and dietary fiber Together, these nutrients support gut health, boost the immune system, and provide sustained energy, making chicken stew a wholesome addition to any diet.

"Just as we put effort into physical nourishment, spiritual growth also takes intention. Setting aside daily time for Scripture helps God’s truth guide and transform us.

Crossword Puzzle

Jesus the Messiah's birth happened when Mary, engaged to Joseph, became pregnant by the Holy Spirit before their marriage. Joseph, being just but discreet, planned to end the engagement privately to avoid shaming her After reflecting, Joseph had a dream in which an angel told him not to fear marrying Mary, as her child was conceived by the Holy Spirit. She would have a son named Jesus who would save people from their sins.

All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”). According to the account, Joseph followed the instructions given by an angel and took Mary as his wife However, they did not consummate their marriage until after she gave birth to a son, whom he named Jesus.
