Furry Friends

Meet Georgia

LOVED BY CHRIS & PATTI MALOOF

We adopted Georgia (aka “Georgie Girl”) from Big Dog Ranch Rescue located in Loxahatchee, Florida. She was one of seven puppies found in the woods somewhere in Alabama. The rescue believes she is a mix of Australian Shepherd and Border Collie.

Georgia was five months old when we brought her home and she is now seven months old and weighs 40 pounds. She is smart, sweet, and has the softest coat ever! She loves long walks on the beach with her dad, but really loves walking around Esplanade and meeting all the other sweet doggies in the neighborhood. If you see Georgia, please feel free to say, “Hi!”

WANT TO FEATURE YOUR PET?

Contact your Lifestyle Manager to be featured in the next edition of the Lifestyle Magazine. Answer a few questions about your furry, feathery, or scaly friend and share a couple pictures.

The Gift of Life, One Donation at a Time

When community meets compassion, something truly powerful happens. This past month, Members of the Esplanade community came together to do something extraordinary: they rolled up their sleeves and donated blood, offering a lifeline to patients in need across our region. In partnership with OneBlood’s Big Red Bus, the Esplanade blood drive was more than just an event—it was an act of unity, kindness, and hope.

WHY IT MATTERS

Every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood. Whether it’s for surgeries, cancer treatment, trauma care, or chronic conditions, one pint can save up to three lives. Our members didn’t just give blood, they gave comfort to a worried parent, time to a recovering patient, and strength to a medical team trying to save a life.

A COMMUNITY THAT CARES

From first-time donors to seasoned regulars, the spirit of generosity was felt throughout the event. Volunteers welcomed participants with open arms (and a few snacks!), and the atmosphere buzzed with positivity and purpose. Whether you donated, volunteered, or simply encouraged a friend to participate, you were part of something bigger than all of us.

WHAT’S NEXT?

Inspired by the turnout and enthusiasm, we’re already planning our next community giving initiative. Stay tuned for future opportunities to make a difference, connect with neighbors, and strengthen the heart of Esplanade.

Exclusive Concierge Offerings

Part of the Esplanade Lifestyle is rolling out the red carpet and giving our Members VIP access to exclusive offers and services! We’ll continue to build and foster these relationships with local organizations and businesses to offer special rates for our community. If you know of a business that would like to partner with Esplanade at Tradition, please contact your Lifestyle Manager. To see full details on all offerings, visit esplanadetraditionlifestyle.com/concierge.

Enhance Your Quality of Life

To enhance quality of life through fitness, focus on integrating regular physical activity and healthy habits into your daily routine. This involves finding activities you enjoy, setting realistic goals, and prioritizing both aerobic and strength training exercises. Additionally, consider the importance of healthy sleep, balanced nutrition, and managing stress.

MAKE IT A LIFESTYLE

» Find activities that you enjoy. Explore different forms of exercise like brisk walking, swimming, cycling, dancing, or group fitness classes. Finding activities you genuinely like will make it easier to stick with your fitness routine.

» Be patient and realistic. Progress takes time, so be patient with yourself and celebrate small victories along the way. Don’t get discouraged by setbacks; view them as learning opportunities.

» Incorporate movement into your day. Look for opportunities to be active throughout the day, such as taking the stairs, walking during your lunch break, or parking further away from your destination.

» Set a routine. Establish a regular workout schedule and stick to it as much as possible. Consider using a fitness tracker or app such as TechnoGym to monitor your progress.

FOCUS ON DIFFERENT TYPES OF FITNESS

» Aerobic Exercise

» Strength Training

» Flexibility and Balance.

PRIORITIZE OTHER ASPECTS OF WELLNESS

» Aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep per night. Establishing a relaxing bedtime routine can help improve sleep quality

» Fuel your body with nutritious foods that provide energy and support your fitness goals. Focus on whole grains, fruits, vegetables, and lean protein.

» Find healthy ways to manage stress, such as practicing mindfulness, spending time in nature, or engaging in hobbies you enjoy.

Wellness Ecosystem

A“wellness ecosystem” involves a holistic approach to promoting health and well-being, considering the individual within a broader context of interconnected factors that impact health. Think of it like a thriving garden where every plant, insect, and drop of rain plays a vital role in the health of the whole. The following are steps to define a wellness ecosystem.

1. IDENTIFY THE CORE DIMENSIONS OF WELLNESS

» Recognize that wellness extends beyond just physical health.

» Consider a holistic view encompassing physical, mental, emotional, social, intellectual, environmental, occupational, and spiritual well-being.

2. ANALYZE MICRO, MESO, AND MACRO ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS

» Micro-environment: Examine immediate surroundings like home and workplace, including relationships within these spaces.

» Meso-environment: Consider the community, local culture, and available resources like parks, healthy food options, and healthcare services.

» Macro-environment: Analyze societal structures, policies, and global trends that shape overall well-being.

3. RECOGNIZE THE INTERCONNECTEDNESS OF COMPONENTS

» Understand that these dimensions and environmental factors are not isolated but dynamically interact, influencing each other.

» For example, physical health can be affected by stress (mental well-being), which in turn can be impacted by workplace culture (occupational/environmental).

4. CONSIDER TECHNOLOGY’S ROLE

» Acknowledge the increasing influence of technology in enabling and enhancing wellness initiatives.

» Explore tools and platforms such as wearable devices, telehealth, virtual reality for mindfulness, and AI-powered recommendations.

5. EMPHASIZE A PROACTIVE AND SUSTAINABLE APPROACH

» Focus on preventative measures and promoting healthy habits rather than just reacting to illness.

» Integrate sustainability principles and practices that benefit both human health and the environment, such as eco-friendly products and resource conservation.

6. FOSTER SOCIAL CONNECTION AND COMMUNITY

» Recognize that strong social bonds, supportive relationships, and opportunities for community engagement are crucial elements of a healthy ecosystem.

» Promote inclusivity and create spaces that encourage interaction and belonging.

By systematically addressing these steps, you can define a comprehensive wellness ecosystem that recognizes the multifaceted nature of well-being and the interconnected factors that influence it.
