This book is the culmination of a photographic exploration of the city of Amsterdam, the place I’ve called home for a decade now.

Each photograph is carefully composed and sequenced into twelve months and four seasons, representing the cycle of a complete year. Through the combination of photographs, I created connections that poetically complement each other.

Together, these images form an engaging narrative, with this great city as the main character.

Over twelve months, I wandered through the streets and explored diverse neighborhoods in search of unique characteristics, specific points of interest, and fleeting moments that instantly captured my attention.

Both the present and past of this city are reflected in these pages, often within a single image. Well-known and lesser-known places are presented from distinctive perspectives, aiming to avoid the obvious.

Every street has its own personality, and each district its own identity. The city itself seemed to sense my presence like a living being. Over time, I felt embraced and accepted as I moved closer to its essence.

I surrendered to the rhythm of the city, allowing it to guide me as if in a dance. By anticipating a few steps ahead, and occasionally pausing when needed, I could capture the city’s most authentic expressions.
